Trump appointed three judges to the court throughout his first tenure: Neil Gorsuch (2017), Brett Kavanaugh (2018), and Amy Coney Barrett (2020). The conservative wing of the bench has arguably since served to enable his agenda. But that is most evident in their ruling in 23-939 Trump v. United States, where the Supreme Court granted him immunity from prosecution. This effectively narrowed, and ultimately squashed attempts to hold him him accountable for the January 6th insurrection attempt. The Supreme Court ruled that Trump has immunity for official acts.
